Gerald Nelson, DDS

Dr. Gerald Nelson earned his dental degree and specialty certificate in Orthodontics from the University of California, San Francisco (1965). In 1971 he co-founded the orthodontics program at La Clinica de la Raza in Oakland. He has taught at UCSF School of Dentistry since 1994, chairing the Division of Orthodontics, Department of Orofacial Sciences (2012-2014). Dr. Nelson has published articles on temporary skeletal anchorage in orthodontic treatment and has been editor in chief of the PCSO Bulletin, a professional journal, for 21 years. He maintains a private practice limited to Orthodontics.
