Before Treatment

When notified by Dr. Mario Vilardi, publisher of Dear Doctor, that she had won our latest contest, Heather was absolutely thrilled because, by her own accounts, she had almost given up the idea that she would ever smile again. “I want to thank you so much for this opportunity to get my smile back...it means the world to me!” When we asked Heather to share with our readers how she arrived at her current oral health crisis, she said, “Due to my dental problems and TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint Disorder), I have not been able to smile in over 10 years. After her examination and then studying her photos, x-rays and medical history, the talented team of Dr. Eric Burgess and Dr. Robert Karol determined that Heather's treatment will include periodontal (gum) treatment, implants to replace missing teeth as well as cosmetic and restorative dentistry. Perhaps the most critical aspect of her care will be the implant and restorative dentistry portion, due to her many missing and hopelessly damaged teeth. Dr. Eric Burgess will provide the restorative and cosmetic solutions, while Dr. Robert Karol will provide the periodontal and implant surgical expertise. Both will work closely with the gifted artisans at LK Dental Studio, who will handcraft Heather's porcelain crown restorations.
