Your Favorite Drink May Be Causing Dental Erosion

Today dentists are seeing more and more patients with dental erosion making it an important topic that needs addressing. When confronted with this issue, patients are typically shocked to discover that one of the main culprits may be their favorite soda, fruit juice, or sports drink!

Dental erosion is the dissolving of the surface enamel of teeth by acids found in popular soda (carbonated) beverages, natural fruit juices, as well as energy and sports drinks. If after drinking them or consuming something acidic such as sucking a lemon, have your teeth ever felt gritty? If so, that is probably erosion at work.
